01/12/04 Huffy® Sports Company Introduces Got Game?TM New Brand Strengthens Company's Position in Niche Games and Family Recreational Products Huffy Sports Company, a manufacturer of basketball systems, inflatable sports balls and related sporting goods products, introduces Got Game?™, a new brand of innovative products and games designed for young adults and families. The Got Game? brand allows Huffy Sports Company to expand its product portfolio, offering retailers more non-traditional, edgier products and games. "Huffy Sports is a well established, mainstream brand that holds a certain place in a consumer's mind," said Patrick Ehren, vice president of sales and marketing for Huffy Sports Company. "Got Game? allows us to offer more niche-oriented products under a fresh new brand identity. With Got Game?, we can expand our product line to support traditional Huffy Sports channels of distribution as well as new channels that have previously been untapped." The first product to launch under the Got Game? brand is HoleShot™, a competitive, high-end version of the traditional bean bag toss. To play the game, competing teams or individuals toss small canvas bags at angled playing boards up to 30 feet apart. Distance between the boards can be shortened to accommodate varying skill levels. Scoring is determined by the number of bags tossed through a hole on the playing board or the number of bags that remain on the surface of the board. The team or individual reaching 21 points first wins the game. HoleShot is ideal for a variety of outdoor activities, including tailgate parties, family picnics, trips to the beach or a friendly game with neighbors in the backyard. When inclement weather hits, the game can be played indoors in a family recreation room or basement. Each board's lock-and-tab design allows for easy breakdown, portability and storage. HoleShot comes with two 24" x 40" molded boards that sit 10 ¼ " above the ground at their highest point. The game also comes with eight canvas bean bags. HoleShot carries a suggested retail price of $69.99. HoleShot is the first of many products to be offered under the Got Game? brand. Additional products will be presented to retailers in late spring or early summer 2004 for placement during the 2004 holiday season or spring 2005. "We've found that there is a tremendous market for products like HoleShot and others we have under development," Ehren said. "Today, most of these games have regional popularity. We're looking to take things to a national audience."
