My system includes Smart Clips®. Why should I use them? Each Huffy® Sports basketball system comes equipped with the Smart Clip Safety Net Release System. These are a unique safety feature that helps prevent persons from becoming entangled in the net during play. Should your face or mouth come in contact with the net, the Smart Clips will release the net from the rams and pull away safely preventing injury. Basketball is a contact sport and players bump into each other during play. You should always use extreme caution to keep face and mouth away from the rim and net as serious dental injury could occur. What is the ground stake? Mobility is the ultimate convenience for playing basketball in the driveway. Portable sets are the most popular choice and are meant to be moved. Unfortunately, without a permanent placement portable sets may fall if precautions are not taken. The ground stake that is included with all Huffy Sports portable basketball systems is designed to secure the system into the ground without losing the potential for mobility. Other precautions you should take are to insure all parked cars are out of the playing surface, and to avoid play during windy weather conditions. Where should I place my new portable system? Your portable basketball system is designed for play on the driveway. Avoid public areas such as sidewalks or streets. Contact your municipality for codes and regulations regarding placement on sidewalks or in public streets.
